Get out of your comfort zone and explore somewhere new!

Let us introduce you to Bungonia State Conservation Area in the NSW Southern Highlands. This full-day adventure is the perfect place to enjoy the bush and take in some fresh air, whilst developing your skills and confidence.

Our morning hiking session will be a circuit to Becks Gully, taking us on road, trails and off-track to fantastic views of the Shoalhaven River Gorge. We will stop for a morning tea break at a spectacular clifftop location before continuing our hike through light scrub back to our starting point.

A light bbq lunch will be provided along with cold drinks to help recover from the morning exertion before our afternoon caving session which is perfect for first-timers; we’ll have fun exploring the spaces of Grill Cave without testing your claustrophobia! This is not a cave of tight constrictions or vertical ropework though there are several vertical steel ladders to descend/ascend and 1 horizontal steel ladder to cross. There are a few sections where foot and handwork are important as well as chambers where the group can reform and take a rest. We provide helmets and headtorches and 2 guides will work with group members to create a positive experience.

Come with a friend or be ready to make some new ones!

Your guides will provide all necessary instruction to put you at ease. Camping is possible at Bungonia Conservation Area for those who want to stay on the night prior to this event.

Fresh air and awesome views on this adventure at the northern end of Watagans National Park

Our journey takes us to an area that provides outstanding views over the Hunter Valley and as far north as the Barrington Tops. We will take regular stops along the way as we travel west by bike then hike to a viewpoint overlooking the Congewai Valley. This is a great spot to enjoy some morning tea., before we reverse our route to find a clifftop lunchsite(Participants will need to supply their own lunch) On our return trip, we will include a break at a dramatic location known ‘Black Stump’. Here we will hike along the base of the cliffs for 500m and hopefully sight some of the local rock wallabies before a final ride back to the start.

Minimum age of participants is 12 years old (must be accompanied by parent or guardian).

An exhilarating walk in the Watagans forest!

This circuit walk starts with a walk into the rainforest with a gentle climb following a trail to a landmark arch before exploring beautiful Gap Creek. After a morning tea break, we will then return part way along our route before descending to enjoy some time at the base of Gap Creek Falls-a majestic drop of over 45m. The final climb back to the the start on a well defined track will certainly raise your pulse but also provide a great sense of achievement.

Come along for this adventure in this beautiful section of Watagans National Park, which is not often visited. We recommend a moderate level of fitness for this 6 km circuit and would encourage participants to wear sturdy footwear.

Explore one of Newcastle’s best trails

This is a fantastic return walk along the Yuelarbah trail, which forms part of The Great North Walk between Sydney and Newcastle. We will walk along sections of boardwalk, trail, beach and rock-platforms to keep things interesting. Arriving at Merewether Surf Club, we will take a short rest to enjoy a barista-made coffee or hot drink, while watching the surf. The return walk will take us back to our starting point. A great way to see the outdoors! We recommend moderate fitness for this 9km circuit.
