Choose Your Adventure

Customise your trip around your interests and abilities!

OPTION 1: Mt Kilimanjaro Trek

Supported by guides and porters up the popular Marangu route to the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro- the highest free standing mountain in Africa at 5,895 metres! Experienced mountain guides and porters carry your gear, cook your meals and do their best to get you to the summit.

  • Stay in comfortable, warm huts each night, and enjoy an acclimatisation day (Day 3) and mix with travellers from around the world.
  • Push your physical and mental limits to ascend at night on the final section to the ‘Roof of Africa’. This not an adventure to be taken lightly but the feelings of elation on reaching the summit are worthwhile.
  • A series of training walks will be conducted (at no additional cost) in the Central Coast/Hunter region to help trekkers improve their fitness and ensure they are thoroughly prepared.

OPTION 2: Cultural Tour

For those not wishing to partake in the Kilimanjaro trek, another option is available in the form of a Cultural Tour.

  • Travellers will enjoy exploring the region and local villages around Mt Kilimanjaro, including visits to a Maasai school, the local markets and indulging in the divine coffee from a plantation.
  • Then its a quick flight to the exotic Zanzibar (just off the coast of Tanzania) to immerse yourself in the island’s rich history, wildlife and culture, before re-joining with the other travellers from the mountain.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which regions of Africa will we visit?

Our trip begins and finishes in Tanzania. Across the 20-days, we’ll explore the areas of Tanzania’s north and east, including three national parks, the border-regions with Kenya, and the island of Zanzibar – off of Tanzania’s east-coast.

Can I pay in instalments?

Absolutely! We ask for a deposit to secure your booking, and we’re happy to organise a payment schedule with you for the balance.

What level of fitness do I need to hike Mt Kilimanjaro?

As this trek is over multiple days, we do ask travellers have a moderate level of fitness and clear sense of their capabilities. You should be comfortable walking on a variety of trail types (e.g. gravel/stoney paths, uneven surfaces, incline) for several kilometres each day.

If you’re unsure about your ability, please contact trip coordinator Peter to discuss. We also encourage you to join one of our upcoming half-day hikes to get a better sense of what might be involved.

I have dietary preferences – are meals included?

Most meals for this trip are included – we take into consideration the dietary requirements of all travellers.

I’d like to upgrade my flights – how can I do this?

Please indicate your flight preferences when making your trip enquiry, and we’ll factor this into your booking.
